Summer Getaway: Southampton Wineries

Over my 2+ years living in New York, I had never considered vacationing to the Hamptons. My friends and I recently decided to make the trip and it couldn’t have been a more relaxing getaway.

We rented a car early Wednesday morning in an attempt to beat the traffic. The drive was smooth. We were the first customers of the day arriving at Channing Daughters Vineyard just before 11. The first thing we noticed (aside from the beautiful symmetry of vines) were the awesome carved wood structures peppering the vineyard. We started our morning with a wine tasting and walk around the grounds. We found out that Walter Channing, a partner of the vineyard, created all of the wood sculptures. One of my favorite pieces what an octopus hanging on the wall.

Hanging on the vineyard –

We continued our adventure driving to Wolffer Estate. This vineyard is absolutely breathtaking. The tasting area here was much larger. We sat on the back patio enjoying a gorgeous view of the vineyards over a 4 round tasting.
